🌍Culture and Lifestyle in Poland and Greece in the Year 2100

The year 2100 – the beginning of a new everyday life The year 2100 seems very distant, but in reality it is only about 75 years from now. This means that children born in the middle of the 21st century will be fully grown by then. The world they will live in depends on what we do now – on our decisions regarding the environment and ecology.

The most important question is: will Poland and Greece be green, safe, and livable countries in 2100, or will they be places destroyed by climate change, where everyday life is a struggle for survival?

To understand this, let’s look at two scenarios:

The ecological scenario – when both countries introduce effective pro-environmental measures.

The crisis scenario – when we disregard nature and allow a climate crisis to occur.

But before we move on to the future, let’s see what Poland and Greece look like today, because that is our starting point.

Poland and Greece today – a starting point for the future

                                             Poland 2025

Climate: temperate, four seasons. Unfortunately, increasingly frequent droughts and heavy downpours.

Environment: large forests (Tuchola Forest, Białowieża Forest), lakes and rivers, but also smog problems in many cities.

Energy: still mainly coal and gas, although the number of wind turbines and solar panels is growing.

Lifestyle: office and industrial work, but also many people living in villages. Increasing use of technology in everyday life.

Culture: attachment to tradition, development of cinema, music and festivals.

                                            Greece 2025

Climate: Mediterranean – hot summers, mild winters. Significant issues with fires and drought.

Environment: islands, sea, olives, vines, beaches. However, many regions suffer from water shortages.

Energy: huge potential in sun and wind, gradual development of renewable energy sources.

Lifestyle: family and shared meals are very important; tourism is also significant.

Culture: rich history – ruins, mythology, ancient heritage that attracts tourists.

                                                                                        Similarities and differences

Similarities: both countries face climate-related challenges (Poland – droughts and floods, Greece – fires and water shortages).

Differences: Poland has a lot of forests and fertile land, Greece – sun and sea. Poland focuses on industry, Greece – on tourism.

It is from these conditions that both countries are starting their future.

Poland 2100 – life in an eco-friendly country

Warsaw in 2100 is not a city of smog and traffic jams, but a green garden with modern buildings.

There are almost no cars – they have been replaced by autonomous capsules and high-speed railways.

Vegetables and fruit grow on the roofs, and the walls of buildings are covered with greenery.

The air is clean and water is always available thanks to modern filtration systems.

Vertical farms and new-generation greenhouses are being built in villages, producing food all year round. Poland is becoming a leader in the export of healthy food and renewable energy in Europe.

Work: people work an average of 20–25 hours per week, with robots and artificial intelligence doing the rest.

Leisure time: physical activity, travel, pursuing interests.

Food: organic, personalised, printed in 3D kitchens.

Education: practical – students learn in gardens, laboratories and through experience.

Festivals by lakes, in the mountains and in meadows, powered by renewable energy.

Folk art combines with modern technology – e.g. holographic concerts inspired by highlander music.

Thanks to real-time interpreters, culture is open to the whole world.

Kasia, 19, lives in Krakow.

In the morning, she wakes up in a house full of plants that filter the air. Her 3D kitchen prints her breakfast – porridge with fruit and coffee. She travels to school in an autonomous capsule.

Lessons take place in the roof garden – today, students are learning about growing plants in modern greenhouses. In the afternoon, she goes to the park with her friends for a concert, and in the evening she watches a holographic theatre performance with her family.

It’s a normal, peaceful day in eco-friendly Poland.

Poland 2100 – life in crisis

🌱Greece 2100 – a country of ecological harmony

1.Cities and islands of the future

Athens in 2100 is a green city.

  • White houses reflect the sun.
  • The streets are lined with trees, and olives and vines grow on the rooftops.
  • The islands are self-sufficient – they have their own energy and water from filtration systems.

 3.Culture

  • Festivals in ancient amphitheatres combine tradition and modernity.
  • The ruins can be explored in VR and AR.
  • Mythology inspires artists creating holographic works.

2.Lifestyle

  • People work flexibly – some online, some in eco-tourism.
  • Family gatherings and shared meals are important.
  • Food – olives, fresh vegetables, seafood from organic farms.

4.A day in the life (eco-friendly Greece)

Maria, 20, from Crete. In the morning, she drinks coffee and eats bread with olive oil. Then she guides tourists around the ruins with VR glasses. In the afternoon, she meets her family for lunch – vegetables, olives, plant-based burgers. In the evening, she goes to a concert on the beach, where the stage is powered by solar energy.

🌪️Greece 2100 – life in crisis

🔍Poland and Greece in 2100 – a comparison

Ecological Poland – green cities, shorter working hours, healthy food.

Poland in crisis – droughts, floods, water shortages.

Ecological Greece – self-sufficient islands, cultural and tourism development.

Greece in crisis – 50°C in the shade, fires, decline of tourism and traditions.

Summary – what does the future hold for us?

The year 2100 is not a distant fantasy – it is the real future of our children and grandchildren. Poland and Greece can be beautiful, green and modern countries, or places where the struggle for water and food will be an everyday occurrence.

Everything depends on what we do now. If we take pro-environmental action, the future will be full of culture, health and technology. If we ignore this, we will face crisis and collapse.

👉The choice is ours. After all, we don’t have a planet B.
